Enterprise Moving to Friday Night

Our blogging friend, Michael King points this out while indicating that this is the exact same time slot that NBC killed the original series with back in the '60s.

Enterprise has a LOT of potential but just failed to really grab any kind of audience. I blame the executives in charge for killing the entire franchise; but what do I know, I'm just a FAN...

Fan Films

VERY interesting article on National Review Online about fan films and those who make them.

As the locals know, I would really, really, really, LOVE to put a good Star Trek fan film together and maybe someday I'll get to do just that.

Randy Johnson Is Perfect

How 'bout that! The Big Unit is one of my favorite pitchers and he throws a perfect game the ONE YEAR I don't have him on my fantasy baseball team.

Today is the Day

West Wing - Season Two is releasing today.

22 episodes of West Wing goodies. This is the season in which Ainsley Hayes (Emily Proctor) was introduced... :P Also, we'll get introduced to Lord John Marbury (Roger Rees) in this season.

GREAT STUFF! on a four-disc set with lots of extra goodies. I can't wait!

Aging Ice Hockey Arena

Mark and I have been trading barbs over my evaluation of his beloved Cincinnati Gardens after the president came to visit.

Turns out, I am not the only person to have this opinion. Here is an exerpt from the New York Times as quoted by Ed of Captain's Quarters:
Last Tuesday, in an aging ice hockey arena on Cincinnati's north side, a banner saying "America: Safer, Stronger, Better" hovered above the floodlighted stage, where a grinning President Bush scanned the crowd of more than 10,000 cheering Republicans.
Take THAT Mark! : )

Classical Music's Ten Dirtiest Secrets

James Lileks leads us to this bit by David Hurwitz for ClassicsToday.com.

I, like Lileks, take strong exception to #4 and #7...Symphonie Fantastique is fantastic in its entirety and Bruckner's "Romantic" Symphony is my second favorite work of all time (Dvorak's "New World" Symphony ranks number 1 in my book)!

The answer to Lileks' Bruckner question can be found here.
